Lorain, OH : One person dead after two-car crash in Lorain on Friday January 15 2016.

One person is dead after a car struck two pedestrians following a crash in Lorain on Friday night, police said.
According to police, authorities were called out to the West 23rd Street and Oakdale Avenue just after 10 p.m. for a two-car crash.
Preliminary investigation into the incident revealed a car driven by a 36-year-old woman was heading west on West 23rd Street when she ran a stop sign and was struck by another car, driven by a 58-year-old man heading south on Oakdale Avenue.
Both cars spun out of control and, according to police, the car driven by the 36-year-old woman spun in a clockwise motion until it struck a tree.
In the process, she struck two pedestrians – a 62-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman – who were walking in the roadway at the time of the incident.
The 62-year-old man died from his injuries, according to police.
The suspect driver was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland for treatment. Information on others involved in the incident was not immediately available.
Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation, police said.
Both cars involved in the crash were seized as evidence.
Police also said this isn’t the first time a fatal crash has occurred in the same area.
