Atlanta, GA : Cheerleader killed in Cherokee County crash on Friday, September 8, 2017

A Woodstock High School cheerleader died Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash, a Cherokee County sheriff’s office spokeswoman said.Madilyn Phillips, 16, was driving a Buick LaCrosse that was hit by a Kenworth flatbed truck, Sgt. Marianne Kelley said in a news release.

Shortly before 7:30 a.m., deputies responded to Ball Ground Highway at East Cherokee Drive, which is south of the city of Ball Ground, Kelley said. They learned Phillips was making a left turn when the truck hit her.
