Winona, MN : 1 injured in Wednesday afternoon crash north of Winona on Wednesday August 31, 2016
One person was injured Wednesday afternoon in a three-vehicle collision on Hwy. 35 in Wisconsin just east of the Winona interstate bridge.
Two cars and a large utility truck collided around 3 p.m.; it wasn’t immediately clear what direction they were traveling, or what caused the crash.
According to the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Department, one of the drivers suffered injuries that were serious but not believed to be life-threatening, and was transported by ambulance to Winona Health. The driver’s name was not immediately available.
Both cars suffered major damage. The front end of a bronze car was smashed, and both ends of a silver car were crumpled toward the car’s interior. Debris was scattered on the road and into nearby ditches.
Traffic was directed onto the nearby service road for a time as authorities took photos of the damage and cleared the scene.
The Winona Fire Department and Winona Area Ambulance Service assisted the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
