Plymouth, CT : Mother, child dead after car crashes into Connecticut home on Monday, Sep 21, 2015

Police say a mother and one of her children are dead after their family car crashed into the front porch of a Connecticut home and landed on its side in the driveway.

Police say the mother and two young boys became trapped in the crash around 6:30 p.m. Monday in Plymouth.

Officers and bystanders freed the children. Firefighters cut off the roof of the car to extricate the mother. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

One of the children was taken to Hartford Hospital, where he died. Police say the other boy was taken to Waterbury Hospital and is listed in serious but stable condition.

The family members have not been identified and the children's ages haven't been released.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash.
