The Ohio State Highway Patrol has released the identity of the man killed in an early morning accident on Interstate 75 northbound, north of Troy.

OSP says 20-year-old Brandon Bark from Troy died in the crash.

It happened around 3 a.m. near mile marker 76.

OSP says Bark was driving north in a 2005 gray Ford pickup truck when he crashed into the back of a semi pulling a double set of trailers. The semi had stopped in traffic due to a construction zone when the crash happened.

Bark was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi was not injured in the crash.

All northbound lanes of I-75 were closed as crews worked to clear the scene. All lanes of traffic have since reopened.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. OSP says distracted driving was likely a contributing factor in the crash. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected.

Emergency crews from Troy Fire Department were on scene in addition to officers from Troy Police Department, deputies from Miami County Sheriff’s Office, and troopers from the Piqua Patrol Post. Representatives from the Ohio Department of Transportation were also on scene to assist with the clean-up and traffic control.
