Bear man killed in Delaware Oklahoma
A Bear man was killed Wednesday in a four-vehicle crash on southbound I-95 near Aberdeen, Md., that closed the highway for four hours.The victim, identified as 48-year-old Robert John Killian, was pronounced dead at the scene, said Sgt. Joseph Behringer, a spokesman for Maryland State Police.The crash occurred about 5:45 a.m. between the Md. 155 and Md. 22 exits, west of the Susquehanna River.A preliminary investigation suggests that Killian, who was driving a white 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier, drove onto the right shoulder and began backing into the right lane, where a 2005 white Chevrolet Silverado hit his rear bumper, police said.The Silverado, driven by 48-year-old John Riddle, then veered across the highway and came to rest on the left shoulder.A white 2009 Mack Pinnacle, driven by James Notafrancesco, 49, of Penndel, Pa., hit Killian’s car on the rear bumper.A white 2014 Freightliner Cascadia, operated by Charles Henry Arter Jr., 50, of Aspers, Pa., hit Notafrancesco’s vehicle on the right side, police said.Riddle was taken to Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore with injuries not considered life-threatening. Notafrancesco and Arter were not injured, police said.
