HUMBOLDT, IA : Humboldt County crash injures 3 on Saturday, March 25th 2017
A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Humboldt County roads P29 and C44 sent three people to the hospital Saturday night, according to Trooper Kyle Kluender, of the Iowa State Patrol.
The accident was reported at 5:03 p.m., about six miles west of Humboldt High School.
Both vehicles involved in the crash were Ford pickup trucks, according to Kluender.
One of the trucks was traveling southbound on Humboldt County Road P29, Kluender said.
The other truck, traveling westbound on Humboldt County Road C44, failed to stop at the stop sign and was struck broadside by the truck traveling southbound.
Both trucks were traveling at highway speeds, according to Kluender.
The impact of the crash caused the westbound vehicle to roll onto its top into the south ditch. It came to rest on the passenger side of the vehicle, Kluender reported.
The southbound truck continued south before entering the west ditch.
That truck spun around before coming to rest against a fence line in a nearby field, Kluender said.
Three people were transported to Humboldt County Memorial Hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
Names of the crash victims were not available Sunday night.
The crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
The Iowa State Patrol, Humboldt County sheriff’s office, Humboldt Volunteer Fire Department, and Humboldt County Memorial Hospital ambulance were on scene.
