Ventura County, CA : One person injured after pickup crashes into Newbury Park house on Friday, April 8, 2016

One person was taken to hospital Friday after a pickup crashed into a Newbury Park house, officials said.

The crash was reported at 6:10 p.m. in the 600 block of Dena Drive, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.

Crews on the scene reported the occupants of the vehicle were able to get out safely. No one was in the home when the crash occurred but one person in the pickup was taken to a local hospital, authorities said.

Thousand Oaks building and safety officials were called to the scene to check for structural damage before fire crews attempt to remove the vehicle, the California Highway Patrol said.
