Morganton, NC : One killed, two injured in crash on Hwy 64 in Burke County on Monday morning, June 13, 2016

A head-on collision killed one person and sent two others to the hospital in Burke County Monday morning. The crash shut down part of Highway 64 for a period of time.
Two vehicles were traveling at a high speed when one vehicle crossed the center line and crashed into the other vehicle on Highway 64, just south of Morganton.
Three people went to the hospital, one by helicopter.
Deputies said one of the people taken to a hospital later died, and another is in very serious condition.
No names have been released.
The highway reopened around 2 p.m.
