Hancock,ME : Four-year-old in critical condition following Hancock crash on November, Wednesday 29th 2017
A four-year-old boy who was injured in a two-vehicle collision on Route 1 in Hancock Wednesday morning is in critical condition at Eastern Maine Medical Center, according to hospital authorities.
Maine State Police Trooper Owen Reed said the boy was taken to the hospital by LifeFlight after the crash. Reed did not provide the boy’s name.
The boy had been a passenger in a car which had been pulling onto Route 1 from the Hancock Grocery parking lot at the time of the crash, Reed said. The car was struck by an eastbound sport utility vehicle, the trooper said.
Leanna Bishop, 26, of Harrington had been driving the car, a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier, which was struck by a Honda Element driven by Barrie Latzko, 70, of Milbridge, said Reed.
Both Bishop and Latzko were taken to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital.
“It appears all occupants were wearing seat belts,” Reed said.
Reed is the primary investigator. Other troopers assisted at the scene as did the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the Hancock Volunteer Fire Department, the Ellsworth Police Department and County Ambulance.
The accident is still under investigation.
