Las Cruces, NM : U.S. airman is dead in motorcycle crash on Interstate 10 in Dona Ana County on Saturday, Nov 7, 2015
A U.S. airman is dead after the motorcycle he was riding struck a vehicle on a freeway in Dona Ana County.
New Mexico State Police say 24-year-old Andrew Dare was traveling around 9:15 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 10 south of Las Cruces.
State Police spokesman Chad Pierce says Dare somehow hit the left rear corner of a commercial vehicle.
The impact sent Dare into the median where he collided with a barrier.
Pierce says Dare's injuries were fatal and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Dare, a member of the U.S. Air Force, was from North Carolina and stationed at Holloman Air Force Base.
The crash remains under investigation.
