Victoria, TX : Three people injured in two vehicle wreck on Friday October 28th 2016

Three people were injured Friday morning in a two-vehicle wreck on U.S. 87, a few miles south of Placedo.

They were taken to Victoria hospitals for treatment of injuries.

The vehicles were a Chrysler minivan and a Chevrolet Camaro.

The names of the drivers and the passenger in the Camaro were not released by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

At 10:10 a.m., the Victoria Fire Department was dispatched to the wreck, said Roger Hempel, battalion chief for the department.

Also on scene were the Victoria County Sheriff's Office and Placedo Volunteer Fire Department.

While the wreck was being investigated, the southbound lanes of U.S. 87 were temporarily closed. The highway reopened at 11:40 a.m.
