Pequannock, NJ : Motorcyclist died after the bike crashed into a parked car on Greenwood Avenue on Saturday night, April 16, 2016

A motorcyclist died after the bike he was riding crashed into a parked car on Greenwood Avenue Saturday night, police said.

Witness reports and a preliminary investigation pointed to "excessive speed" as a factor in the wreck, according to Capt. Christopher DePuyt of the Pequannock police.

DePuyt said the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at Chilton Hospital. The victim's name was being withheld while authorities informed his next of kin.

Greenwood Avenue would be closed until approximately 11 p.m. as police investigated at the scene.
