SALIX, IA : Two people hospitalized, I-29 traffic diverted after accident on Saturday August 12, 2017

A traffic accident near the Salix exit on Interstate 29 caused traffic diversions on the interstate Saturday night.

By 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Woodbury County Sheriff's Lt. Tony Wingert said the interstate was open and the accident scene had been cleared.

Little information was available at the time, but Wingert said he believed one vehicle rear-ended another in the accident.

There were two people taken to the hospital, Wingert said, with non-life-threatening injuries.
