A 21-year-old Thomas County woman died Saturday morning in a Ga. 3 crash near the Ochlockonee River bridge.
Montrecia Keysha Thomas, 514 Cindy Drive, was traveling south, driving a 2007 Honda Civic.
"The vehicle traveled off the west shoulder and down an embankment," Sgt. First Class Tommy Peeples, Thomasville Post 12 Georgia State Patrol commander, said.
The driver lost control of the car, which struck a ditch embankment and overturned, according to authorities.
"The driver was ejected at that point," Peeples, said.
The speed of the Honda at the time of crash was estimated at 61 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone, authorities said.
The commander said the cause of the crash is unknown.
The driver might have been distracted, and the car left the highway, he said.
Thomas could not regain control of the car, overturned and was ejected, Peeples explained.
