Reddick, FL: One person died and three others were seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash on early Saturday morning, 15th November 2014
One person died and three others were seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning.
The crash occurred at 12:50 a.m. on County Road 318 near the Petro truck stop off Interstate 75.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers had a difficult time identifying the deceased and the occupants of the car, an older model Volvo, because the people — all men — had no identification on them.
The dead man has been identified as Christopher Leon Henry, 54. The passengers were identified as Latrell L. Sawyer, 19, and brothers Alphonso Manning, 23, and Trevon M. Manning, 24.
All four are from Micanopy, and they were reportedly on their way to the Petro truck stop when the accident occurred.
Authorities said the vehicle was approaching a right curve when the driver — Henry — failed to negotiate the curve and the car traveled onto the north shoulder. Henry then lost control of the car, which slammed into a huge tree.
Henry was pronounced dead at the scene. The other three people were taken to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, according to FHP officials.
The Manning brothers were in critical condition. Sawyer was listed in stable condition.
