Lee County, FL : One person injured after hit and run crash on U.S. 41 and Joseph Lane in Lee County on Saturday night, March 7, 2015
A hit and run crash critically injured one and landed another driver in jail. Florida Highway Patrol says the crash happened about seven Saturday night on U.S. 41 and Joseph Lane in Lee County.
The Ford Mustang driven by Neil Patrick Burrowes of Naples when hit as Burrowes tried to make a left turn from Joseph Lane onto U.S. 41.
FHP says he failed to give the right of way to a truck driven by 19-year-old Wilson Tema of Naples. The truck hit the car causing it to spin in the intersection.
The impact left Burrowes in critical condition. He was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital.
Tema ran from the scene on foot but was later picked up by Collier Sheriff's deputies. Tema was charged with hit and run with property damage and injury and driving without a driver's license.
His bond is set at $6500.
Charges are pending against Burrowes.
