Valdosta, GA : Two people injured after Cook accident early Wednesday, March 8, 2017
A two-vehicle accident in Cook County early Wednesday sent two people to area hospitals, according to the state patrol.
At approximately 7:45 a.m., a Ford Explorer pulling a U-haul trailer south on an inner lane of Interstate 75 near Exit 49 began to fishtail, said Trooper Stephen Pritchett of the Georgia State Patrol's Tifton post. It struck a semi-truck in an outer lane, also southbound, he said.
A passenger in the Explorer was ejected while the driver remained in the vehicle, Pritchett said. It came to rest in a shoulder ditch, he said.
The driver of the Explorer was taken to Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, while the passenger was taken to Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, Pritchett said. There were no fatalities and traffic was not impeded, he said.
The accident remains under investigation, Pritchett said.
