Police say an MTA bus driver has been arrested in a fatal hit-and-run accident involving a 70-year-old woman in Brooklyn.
The accident happened at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday in the Ocean Hill section.
Police say Carol Bell, of Brooklyn, was struck by a bus making a right turn as she tried to cross the street. They say the bus kept going. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the bus driver— 48-year-old Paul Roper — was later arrested on charges including leaving the scene of an accident and failure to yield to a pedestrian. Information on his lawyer wasn't immediately available.
A spokeswoman for the MTA says the authority is investigating the accident.
