Central, SC : Teenager killed in motorcycle crash at Highway 133 and Pike Road on Saturday, June 11, 2016

The Pickens County coroner said a teen motorcyclist died in a crash just after 4 p.m. Saturday.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, 18-year-old Eugene Victor Mereshko of Belton was driving a 2014 Kawasaki motorcycle.

He was riding along with another motorcyclist and they both attempted to pass a car. Troopers say that's when the motorcyclists hit each other.

According to troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Mereshko was thrown from his motorcycle and was then hit by a dodge four door.

The coroner says Mereshko died at the scene.

The driver of the second motorcycle was not injured.

The driver of the dodge four door was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

The crash happened at Highway 133 and Pike Road in Central.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
