New York, NY : Woman dies, several hurt during collision in NYC on Sunday morning, September 11, 2016

Police say a woman is dead and several others were hurt when a car they were in was hit by another car in New York City.

Police say 23-year-old Desray Leroy of Queens and six other people had been riding in one of the cars Sunday morning in the Queens neighborhood of South Ozone Park when another driver crashed into them.

Leroy and several other passengers in the first car were taken to hospitals following the crash. Police say Leroy was declared dead at a nearby hospital. The conditions of the other passengers weren’t immediately clear.

The 53-year-old driver of the second car was taken to a hospital and treated for minor injuries.

An investigation is ongoing.
