Bakersfield, CA : Jack Galaviz was killed in a crash at Taft Highway on Tuesday, 23rd August, 2016

A man who police say stole a vehicle before dying in a crash involving a big rig has been identified.

Jack Galaviz, 47, was identified by the coroner’s office as the driver of a stolen vehicle that raced through a red light and broadsided a big rig at Taft Highway and Gosford Road early Tuesday.

He died at the scene of the 12:48 a.m. crash.
