Laconia, NH : Man sentenced after pleading guilty to fatal crash on Monday evening September 28 2015.


A Rockingham County man was sentenced to serve five to 10 years in prison after admitting to his role in a fatal 2014 drunken-driving accident.Ryan Mears apologized Monday to the family of Tiffany Nieves after he pleaded guilty, saying a night of bad decisions still haunts him.Mears, 27, was charged with negligent homicide, second-degree assault and possession of a controlled drug.
Prosecutors said an intoxicated Mears was driving 90 mph in a 40 mph zone when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed head-on into a tree off Parade Road in Laconia.
Nieves, a passenger in the car, was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Prosecutors said Mears admitted to officers he had been drinking and using cocaine
