MILWAUKEE, WI : Fiery crash closes I-43 at Marquette Interchange on Wednesday, 18th July 2018

Interstate 43 at Milwaukee's Marquette Interchange was closed for several hours Wednesday morning after vehicle rear-ended a chemical-carrying tractor-trailer, resulting in an incredible fire and explosions.

It wasn't immediately clear to whom the tractor-trailer belonged, but a fire official said crews were initially prepared to evacuate about a half-mile perimeter, which would affect a portion of downtown Milwaukee, because it wasn't known how the chemicals the truck was carrying would react to the water and foam firefighters used to put out the flames.
