Galliano, LA : Lafourche man killed in crash involving tractor on Thursday, 12th September 2019
A 70-year-old Lafourche Parish man was killed in a crash involving a tractor this afternoon in Galliano, State Police said.
The crash claimed the life of Perry Gisclair, of Cut Off, Senior Trooper Jesse LaGrange said in a news release.
Investigators learned a 2011 Chevrolet HHR driven by 34-year-old Galliano resident Julien Hebert was traveling around 2 p.m. in the right lane on La. 3235. Gisclair was operating a 2015 Kubota tractor in the right lane when Hebert’s vehicle approached from behind, LaGrange said.
For reasons still under investigation, Hebert didn’t slow down for the tractor and struck it from behind, LaGrange said. The collision threw Gisclair from the tractor, and he suffered fatal injuries.
Gisclair transported to Lady of the Sea Hospital, where he later died, LaGrange said. Hebert, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor to moderate injuries and was also transported to Lady of the Sea Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
