Marion County, FL : Dunnellon man dies in car crash on Saturday, 14th December, 2019

A 68-year-old man died as the result of a single vehicle crash in southwest Marion County Saturday night, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.

Phillip Cheshire, of Dunnellon, died from injuries suffered in the 11:51 p.m. crash that occurred when a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado driven north on Southwest 129th Terrace Road by Cheshire entered a curve to the left and off the roadway onto the right grass shoulder, according to FHP.

The vehicle then vaulted over a driveway and collided with a large tree, according to the FHP report.

The report does not specify if Cheshire was wearing a seat belt and the crash remains under investigation, according to FHP.
