ZIONSVILLE, IN : A woman died in a crash on Friday, September 15th 2017
A woman died in a crash Friday afternoon on State Road 32 north of the town, according to Boone County authorities.
In addition to the fatality, another woman and an 11-year-old boy were injured, authorities at the scene said.
A sport-utility vehicle with the three inside passed in front of the dump truck at the intersection with County Road 1200 East, and the man driving it told authorities he could not stop before crashing into the SUV, authorities said. It was not immediately known why the car went through the intersection. The truck driver was cooperating, they said, and he was not hurt.
State Road 32 was closed in the area of the crash, which was east of Indianapolis Executive Airport and at the Boone-Hamilton county line. The crash occurred about 5:45 p.m.
The crash knocked out power to the airport and 189 other Duke Energy customers. The airport ran on a generator until about 7:50 p.m. Most of the power in the area had been restored by 8:45 p.m.
