Collier County , FL : Motorcyclist killed in collision with dump truck along US 41 on Thursday afternoon ,June 18th 2015

A 20-year-old motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a dump truck on US-41 in Collier County Thursday afternoon.

The crash happened on US-41 and Basik Drive around 2:45 p.m. in Naples.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a dump truck was traveling south on US-41 approaching the driveway entrance of Auto Village Way.

At the same time, a motorcycle was going north in US-41 approaching the dump truck.

The dump truck attempted to turn left – violating the right-of-way of the motorcycle.

The motorcycle crashed into the right side of the dump truck. The rider – identified as 20-year-old Stefan Cammarota – was ejected from the bike. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
