Houma, LA : Breaux Bridge man killed in Galliano crash on Thursday, January 19th 2017
A 67-year-old Breaux Bridge man died after a crash this morning on La. 3235 just north of West 205th Street in Galliano, State Police said.
Lester Boudreaux was pronounced dead at Lady of the Sea General Hospital in Galliano, Trooper First Class Jesse LaGrange said in a news release. His wife and only passenger, 66-year-old Gail Boudreaux, was taken to Terrebonne General Medical Center with broken bones.
LaGrange said troopers responded to the crash shortly after 9:30 a.m. The preliminary investigation showed Boudreaux, who was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado, exited a private driveway and crossed both southbound lanes of the highway to reach a turn-around.
Boudreaux entered the path of a 2013 Ford-150 driven by Gavin Callais, 54, of Cut Off, who hit Boudreaux's truck on the driver's side, LaGrange said. Callais was taken to Lady of the Sea with minor injuries.
LaGrange said all three were wearing seat belts, and investigators don't suspect impairment. A breath test showed no alcohol involvement for Callais, and routine toxicology tests are pending for Lester Boudreaux.
