Stockton,CA : Man killed in rural east Stockton crash on November, Wednesday 15th 2017
One man was killed in a three-vehicle crash in rural east Stockton on Wednesday afternoon.
The San Joaquin County Coroner’s Office has not provided the victim’s identification pending notification of next of kin.
The California Highway Patrol reported the collision at 12:15 p.m. on Highway 4 east of Jack Tone Road.
In the initial investigation, the CHP said the victim was driving westbound in a 1998 Mercedes on Highway 4, approaching Jack Tone Road going 55 mph.
Meanwhile, a 52-year-old Mariposa man was traveling in a 2008 Ford F-250 in the eastbound lane at approximately 50 mph, authorities said. He was approaching the Mercedes and was directly behind a tractor trailer.
A third vehicle, driven by a 64-year-old man from Elverta, was in a 2015 Ford F-450 traveling west and going 55 mph. It was several vehicle lengths ahead of the Mercedes, officers said.
