Irving, N.Y : Bicyclist injured in collision with car in Irving Tuesday, January 3, 2017

A Silver Creek man was taken to Lakeshore Hospital to be treated for serious injuries after his bicycle collided head-on with a car on Route 5 near the intersection with Route 20 at about 4:14 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office.

David Sodaro, 58, was riding a bicycle headed east when he allegedly tried to turn left to make it to the north side of the road, but struck head-on with a westbound car driven by a 34-year-old Forestville man, according to the sheriff's office.

No charges had been lodged against the driver of the car, according to the sheriff's office.
