Orlando, FL : 46-year-old man killed in car crash on Florida Turnpike in Orange County on Friday morning, Nov 20, 2015

A 46-year-old man was killed Friday morning when his BMW crashed on the Florida Turnpike in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the Turnpike near State Road 408.

According to the FHP, the man, whose name has not been released, lost control of his car for an unknown reason and struck a concrete barrier in the median. A second car then hit the man's BMW, troopers said.

The other driver, a 36-year-old Clermont man, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

The FHP said the crash remains under investigation.

The Turnpike reopened hours after the crash.
