CHICOPEE, MA : Woman dies after driver flees officer, crashes on Sunday, 30th October 2016

Authorities say a Chicopee woman was killed and two men were injured in a crash after the driver tried to avoid being pulled over by police.

A spokesman for the Hampden County District Attorney's Office says 22-year-old Lina Correa, a passenger, died from injuries sustained in the Sunday morning crash in Chicopee.

The driver and another passenger are expected to survive.

Police say the incident began when a patrolling officer saw a car with no license plate swerving from side to side. They say the car sped out of sight after the officer flagged it.

Police say the officer later found the car, which had crashed into a parked car. The occupants were extricated from the vehicle and hospitalized. Authorities say Correa died at the hospital.
