Richmond,VI : Louisa woman dies after Sunday crash on state Route 208 on October, Sunday 29th 2017

A Louisa County woman was killed and a man seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash Sunday night in Louisa, state police said.

Police said Vallerie M. Staton-Bickley, 62, suffered serious injuries when the 1994 Chevrolet 1500 pickup she was driving went off the right side of state Route 208 and struck a tree about 8:20 p.m. She later died at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

Staton-Bickley was driving east on the road, also known as Courthouse Road. The crash occurred near the road's intersection with state Route 688, also known as Holland Creek Road.

Gary H. Bickley, 58, of Louisa, who was the only passenger in the truck, also suffered serious injuries. He was taken by a family member to U.Va. Medical Center, where he remains hospitalized, police said.
