Monett, MO : Two people injured in two-vehicle crash at Highway 60 and Eisenhower on Thursday, May 19, 2016
Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision at Highway 60 and Eisenhower at about 5:35 p.m. on Thursday in Monett.
According to the Monett Police report, Eleanor Hanson, 79, of Aurora, was driving a 2000 Ford F-150 pickup west on Highway 60 when she ran a red light at Eisenhower. A 2003 Honda Pilot SUV, driven south by Tracy Archer, 55, of rural Monett, was turning into the eastbound lane of Highway 60 at that time and was struck in the intersection by Hanson's pickup.
The impact spun the SUV around, resulting in the vehicle rolling over the traffic island, striking a stop sign, running off the highway and onto the northeast corner of the intersection, striking a fiber optics post and coming to rest on a mound of dirt and gravel 151 feet from the point of impact.
Hanson's pickup proceeded through the intersection, ran off the northwest corner of the intersection and came to rest in the parking lot of the former convenience store there, striking a parked car in the lot.
Adams was was transported from the scene by Barry-Lawrence Ambulance to Cox Hospital South in Springfield. The SUV was totaled.
Hanson was transported by private vehicle to Cox Monett Hospital for treatment. No assessment of her injuries was available.
