PHOENIX, AZ : Car crashes into a pole in Phoenix; at least 1 seriously hurt on Friday, 13th October 2023

A man is dead after his car crashed into a pole during a collision in central Phoenix on Friday morning.

Around 7:30 a.m. Phoenix police officers were called to a crash involving a car that hit a pole near 19th Avenue and Indian School Road. Officers arrived and found the driver of the car, 18-year-old Dominic Mathias Linares, with serious injuries. Linares was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Detectives say Linares was going north on 19th Avenue when another vehicle turned left on Indian School Road. The two cars collided, and Linares’ car vehicle was redirected into the pole. Police say impairment is not believed to be a factor in the crash. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
