Tulsa, OK : Kentucky truck driver dies in Interstate 40 crash near Sallisaw on Wednesday, November, 29th 2017
A Kentucky man died early Wednesday when the tractor-trailer rig he was driving went off Interstate 40 near Sallisaw and crashed, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
Kim Belanger, 64, of Hazard, Kentucky, was pronounced dead at the scene about a half-mile west of Sallisaw in Sequoyah County, troopers said.
The cause of the crash was a medical condition, the OHP said.
Belanger was driving a 2017 Freightliner west at about 7:55 a.m. when the rig left the roadway, traveled about 478 feet and struck several trees before turning on its side.
