TORRINGTON, CT : Moped rider flown to hospital following crash in Torrington on Monday, 10th June 2024

A moped rider was flown to the hospital after a crash in Torrington on Monday, according to authorities.

Torrington police said it happened on Norfolk Road (Route 272) by Ice House Road at around 2:50 P.M. The area was closed but has since reopened.

The operator, identified as 24-year-old Anthony Gonzalez of Torrington, was traveling south and lost control of the moped. He was ejected from the vehicle and was wearing a helmet at the time.

He was flown by LifeStar to Hartford Hospital with life threatening injuries, police said. He is listed in critical but stable condition.
