WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL : Driver dead in Williamson County crash on Saturday, 6h July 2024

A driver died in a crash involving a garbage truck on Saturday morning.

The crash occurred around 11:53 on Saturday, July 6, by the intersection of IL State Route 149 and Lockeyville Road in Hurst.

According to information from the Williamson County Sheriff's Office, investigators believe a garbage truck driving south on Route 149 lost control and crashed with an SUV driving north.

Officials say the driver of the SUV was declared dead on the scene.
