KUNIA, HI : Two men were killed in a high-speed car crash in Kunia on May, Tuesday, 16th 2017

Two men were killed in a high-speed car crash in Kunia on Tuesday.

Police say the wreckage and the victims weren't discovered until hours after it happened.

"The report came in around 9:00 a.m., but we’re assuming that based on the condition of the scene, it probably happened anywhere between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m. this morning," said Lt. Andre Peters with HPD's Traffic Division.

Police say the two men, one 32 years old and another unidentified man in his 30s, were ejected from the Honda.

Car parts and debris littered the field between Kunia Village and the Kunia Golf Course where police were called to investigate the vehicle found in the bushes.

"A dark colored Honda was traveling southbound on Kunia Road, traveling at a high rate of speed, lost control, hit into the guardrail and the tree and ended up overturned into the brush area behind me," Lt. Peters said.

Police said both men were dead when they arrived.

A helicopter as well as officers from HPD's specialized services division joined in to help search the area for more possible victims.

"There was a baby seat that was found in the vehicle. So we just wanted to ensure that obviously there were no child or any other occupants within the vehicle," said Lt. Peters.

The names of the victims have not yet been released.

Investigators say it is unknown if drugs or alcohol are involved.

Police are still investigating exactly how fast the car was going.
