One person was killed and three others were injured in a five-car accident due to a dust storm in Walnut Ridge.
Benjamin R. Brantley, 50, of Brookville, FL was killed Sunday, according to the crash report released by Arkansas State Police.
Darrell G. Stutts, 47, of Selmer, TN and James W. Walker, 75, along with Lavonda Walker, 78, both of Senath, MO were injured.
The crash happened just before 3:30 p.m.
ASP and local emergency crews blocked off a portion of Highway 412 near the Walmart in Walnut Ridge for the crash.
Those injured were taken to a Walnut Ridge hospital in unknown condition.
Brantley, Stutts and the Walkers were traveling in three separate vehicles at the time of the crash.
The crash report states the collision happened as five vehicles slowed "due to near zero visibility conditions during a dust storm."
Craighead Electric Cooperative also had a crew on scene to fix a power line that was down in the area.
Neighbors near the dust storm said they had never seen the dust this bad.
"A lot of people didn't get any dust at all but some did," said Charlie Gates, a Walnut Ridge resident. "This has been a day I never seen before with all this dust going everywhere."
