Logan Canyon, UT : One seriously injured in Logan Canyon crash Sunday on July 20, 2014
Investigators believe seat belts likely mitigated the injuries in a head-on crash Sunday.
A 2013 Honda Civic was heading south through Logan Canyon Sunday afternoon when, for some reason, it entered the northbound passing lane, said Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Lee Perry. Near a curve in U.S. Highway 89, at mile marker 477, the Honda crashed head-on into a pickup truck in the same lane.
"It was a fairly significant impact," Perry said. However, only one person was seriously injured — the male passenger in the Honda, who had to be extricated from the car, Perry said. He was flown to McKay Dee Hospital Center in serious condition.
Everyone was wearing their seat belts, the lieutenant said.
