Three people were taken to a local hospital Thursday morning after a two-car crash shut down a major roadway in west Topeka, authorities said.
Emergency crews were sent about 7:35 a.m. to the 2600 block of S.W. Urish Road, where the crash occurred. The location was just south of an entrance to the Cyprus Ridge golf course.
The crash involved a silver, four-door Toyota Camry and a black Ford Mustang.
Topeka police at the scene said there were two people in the Camry and one person in the Mustang. All three were taken to a Topeka hospital by American Medical Response ambulance with injuries police described as “relatively minor.”
The cars came to rest blocking the two-lane road, which has a steep slope on its east side. The Camry was in the southbound lane facing northeast. The Mustang was in the northbound lane facing southwest.
