Las Vegas, NV : One person critical condition after a two-vehicle crash outside of Goodsprings on Tuesday afternoon, November 15, 2016

A man died and another person was hurt after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon outside of Goodsprings.

The crash, involving a minivan and a Ford Explorer, happened about 3 p.m. on the 3100 block of Sandy Valley Road, about 10 miles west of Goodsprings, Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Michael Rodriguez said.

The man driving the minivan was westbound on Sandy Valley Road and crossed over to oncoming traffic. The minivan then collided with the Ford Explorer head-on, Metro Lt. Timothy Hatchett said.

The man driving the minivan was extricated from the vehicle and flown to University Medical Center; he died later. The Explorer’s driver, who also taken to UMC by ambulance, had minor injuries, Hatchett said.

The Clark County coroner’s office will release the identity of the man who died once next of kin has been notified.
