GREENFIELD, MA : Two drivers rescued after head-on crash on Thursday, December 22nd 2016

Two people were injured after a head-on collision at Cheapside and Hope streets early Thursday morning.
Greenfield police said the two drivers were taken to Franklin Medical Center. When police arrived, the two drivers were trapped, and fire department rescue workers had to help remove them with extrication equipment. A Facebook post notes the accident happened at around 6:15 a.m.
As of around 7 a.m., the post notes “both drivers are expected to survive. Vehicles have been towed from the scene and the road is now open.”
Along with the town fire and police departments, Medicare Ambulance was also called to help.
