Concord, NC : Woman died and man seriously injured after a crash on Branchview Drive, north of Old Airport Road on Monday morning, Nov 2, 2015

A woman died and a man was seriously injured after a crash Monday morning in Concord.

Concord police were called to the scene at 7:19 a.m. on Branchview Drive, north of Old Airport Road.

Catherine Ivey, 54, was driving a 2008 Kia Rondo north on Branchview Drive and lost control of her SUV. She crossed the center lane and crashed into a 2004 Chrysler Sebring convertible driven by Stephen Barnhardt, 29.

Ivey was pronounced dead at the scene. Barnhardt was rushed to Carolinas Medical Cneter – Main in Charlotte, where he is in critical condition.

The accident remains under investigation.
