A 68-year-old man was transported to the hospital in critical condition Thursday morning after a violent collision near the freeway entrance in Provo.
There were three vehicles involved in the crash near the intersection of East Bay Boulevard and University Avenue, said Sgt. Nisha King with the Provo Police Department.
Authorities determined that at 11:30 a.m., a white Ford truck drove south along University Avenue. At the same time, a silver car attempted to turn left from a Maverik parking lot and cross five lanes of traffic.
The silver vehicle hit the rear end of the truck, causing the truck to roll across the center lane and on top of a tan passenger car traveling northbound.
The driver of the tan vehicle suffered critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The two other drivers had minor injuries, King said.
