Laredo, TX : Man killed in crash on Wednesday, December 7th 2016

A man was killed Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash in Zapata County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
DPS Sgt. Conrad J. Hein identified him as Martin Hector Guzman, 49, a Zapata resident.
The crash occurred at about 5:30 p.m. on U.S. 83, about one mile east of Zapata.
Hein said preliminary reports show that a 2011 Ford pickup was stopped at the intersection of U.S. 83 and Davis Lane while a 1978 Harley-Davidson motorcycle ridden by Guzman was traveling southbound on U.S. 83.
“The Ford pickup proceeded left and failed to yield right of way to the motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the Ford on its front left side,” Hein stated.
DPS said Guzman was pronounced dead at the scene.
“DPS troopers are still investigating at this time,” Hein said in a statement.
