A collision involving a bus and a car left 17 people injured Saturday night in Harmans, Anne Arundel County Fire Department said.
Firefighters responded to Dorsey Road and Shipley Avenue around 8:40 p.m., county fire said. Because of the collision, the bus left the roadway, went through a guardrail and into the woods. But the bus did not overturn.
While a majority of the patients suffered minor injuries, a 17-year-old male and a 20-year-old female, who were both in the car, were transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for potential
serious injuries, county fire said.
Eleven people were transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center and four were transported to Howard County General for minor injuries, county fire said.
BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport and Howard County Anne Arundel County firefighters assisted the Anne Arundel County firefighters. The scene was cleared by 10 p.m., county fire said.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department is investigating the accident.
