Warren,OH : Two drivers in road rage crash charged on may, Wednesday 24th 2017

Two drivers were charged in what police are calling a road rage incident that took place prior to a May 8 accident on the state Route 82 bypass, according to a news release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Patrol Sgt. Daniel Jesse said the charges were filed after a thorough investigation and discussion with the Trumbull County Prosecutor’s office.

William Elmore, 26, of Warren, faces charges of reckless operation of a motor vehicle and child endangering, Jesse said. Trumbull County Central District court records show Elmore is to be arraigned at 9 a.m. June 2.

Also charged with reckless operation of a motor vehicle was Anthony Minotti, 21, of Warren, the report states. However, no arraignment has been set for Minotti, Central District court records show.

According to the patrol report, Elmore and Minotti were driving vehicles that were involved in a crash on state Route 82 near the Larchmont Avenue interchange about 9 p.m. on May 8.

Elmore’s 2008 Ford F-150 and Minotti’s 2006 Saturn Vue were both eastbound on the bypass when reports state the pair began “engaging in a road-rage-type incident.” After passing the Larchmont Avenue interchange, the report states the two vehicles collided, sending Minotti’s Saturn spinning into the median, where it struck a dividing cable barrier and overturned.

One of the passengers in the 2008 Ford F-150 was a small child who was being transported to the hospital for head injuries that were sustained prior to the crash, the report states.

Jesse said the reckless way Elmore was driving presented danger to the child, but he said the accident did not cause further injuries. Jesse said the child had sustained non-life threatening injuries at home and was being taken to St. Joseph Warren Hospital when the crash occurred.

The accident caused the bypass to be closed for more than 90 minutes while crews, including Bazetta police and fire departments, worked to clear the road.
